Teaching Personnel are looking for aspiring SEN Teaching Assistants in the Yeovil area. 

Ask any teaching assistant and they’ll no doubt tell you that no two days are the same. It’s an extremely varied role, and the tasks and responsibilities can change from one class to the next.

Teaching assistants provide support to those children who need it most, as well as taking some of the burden from classroom teachers. The work they do can sometimes go under the radar, making them something of an unsung hero.

Teaching Personnel have recognised that it can be hard to become a Teaching Assistant without the relevant experience, so we have put a plan in place to help. 

We have an exciting opportunity for 30 aspiring Teaching Assistants to complete a Level 2 Understanding Children and Young People Mental Health Certificate. This is a 2 week course where you will be required to attend online sessions between 9:30 - 2:30 Monday - Friday and complete some course work in the evenings. At the end, you will receive a recognised Level 2 certificate. This is government funded and therefore free of charge for you to complete. 

Following this, we will arrange for you to complete trial days in the schools we work with to build hands on experience.

  • Mental Health Difficulties 
  • Complex Needs

You do not need to have any experience to be considered for this opportunity, but you will need to have the right personality traits:

  • The ability to use you own initiative 
  • Be able to build positive working relationships with all people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
