KS2 Teacher - Merthyr

 

Teaching Personnel have a PRU Teacher opportunity within an alternative provision in Dowlais, Merthyr.

 

We are looking for a confident classroom Teacher who can take charge of a small classes and deliver KS2 lessons. The provision caters for students with behavioural and emotional difficulties and will be essential to make a positive impact on the lives of disengaged young pupils.

 

The position of a PRU Teacher provides a rare platform for creativity and innovative practice to be explored. Some of the behaviour at times can be challenging, we require the right character who is committed and patient to work with children who attend our settings.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Take charge of a team of teaching assistants and create an enthusiastic and motivated approach to learning.
  • Pastoral responsibilities for students with severe barriers to learning.
  • Work with the lead teacher in designing and delivering a curriculum within your specialist subject KS2.
  • Developing and maintaining schemes of work across subjects and provide a positive learning environment.

 

Applicants should be experienced teaching students with behavioural difficulties within a mainstream school, special school, PRU or alternative provision and have a Qualified teacher status (or UK equivalent)

 

 

The role would suit an experienced SEN Teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to progress their career working in small classes with students with barrier to learning.
